UFC 281: Adesanya Vs. Pereira - Best Bets, Picks and Predictions

The UFC steps their game up consistently. Every PPV card is better than the last, and 281 this weekend will be no exception. If there was one word to describe the potential this card has, it would be 'electricity'. MSG will host a slew of match-ups between some of the sports most talented champions and contenders. Also, on our episode this week, we were joined by professional fighter Marcellus "Master Chief" Wallace, who gave us his picks and spoke about his upcoming fight November 18th on UFC Fight Pass.

For our full slate of main card picks and prelim locks, as well as a few questions with Marcellus, you can watch us on Youtube:

Lets dive into the card now.

Heavy Duty Lightweights

Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler are slated to fight before the co-main event, and if you've ever seen either of these guys fight you know it'll be a great one. Both men are some of the toughest on the planet, willing to stand in the middle of the octagon and trade punches, fully aware of the damage the other could do to them. Chandler is muscle-bound, explosive, and one of the strongest in the division. Poirier is a tactician, precise with his boxing. Each man has a certain skill set that matches well against the other man, if used wisely. There are also a few elements we came upon that favor one fighter in particular, including venue and amount of rounds. The three of us on this week's episode were in congruence with our pick, making it a Super Lock. To get our pick for this fight, skip to 29:58.

Stylebender vs Poatan

In case you aren't aware, just a bit of history: Israel Adesanya, longtime reigning UFC middleweight champion, was beaten twice by Alex Perriera when they were kickboxers. Once by knockout, once by controversial decision. Years later, Perriera, recently signed by the UFC, shot his way up the rankings and will take on Adesanya at MSG. Many are saying Perriera will be the one to end Adesanya's reign, because neither is inclined to grapple so it should be a repeat of their previous fights. Others are saying MMA rules favor Izzy's style. One thing is for certain: unlike Izzy's previous opponents (besides Marvin Vettori) Alex Perriera will bring the fight to him. This will not be boring. For our picks, skip to 44:48.

There are a lot of great fights on this card that I didn't mention here, but were covered on our episode. There are some seriously big names, including Molly "Meatball" McCann, Dan Hooker, Frankie Edgar, and more. This card will be electric. You can get our full slate of picks in this week’s episode.
