UFC San Antonio: Vera vs. Sandhagen - Best Bets, Picks and Predictions

If you say you saw Leon Edwards defending his title, no you didn't. (Tom did.) Overall, we did well with UFC 286, profiting heavily. Time to repeat with UFC Fight Night: Vera vs Sandhagen. This card is lacking when it comes to name recognition, but the action will be plenty. When it comes to fighters like Nate Landwehr, Holly Holm, and Manel Kape, there is no doubt in our minds that heads will roll. Also, plenty of money to be made. That's why we're here with your UFC San Antonio Picks. Bet responsibly.

Makin' Money

Betting on sports this time of year is very fun, especially if you have multiple televisions in one room. As a sports addict, I put three in my living room yesterday and had some friends over. One of the TV's had March Madness on, another had the World Baseball Classic. On the third, the biggest of the three, I had on UFC 286. It was fun to watch Justin Gaethje, as a +190 underdog, get a decision win in a bloodbath of a fight, and +220 Leon Edwards retire Kamaru Usman. Over at Pickin Fights, the plan is to keep the money coming in. We've got a few super locks for the card, such as in the Alex Perez / Manel Kape fight, as well as some method of victory props to tail. That fight should be a banger, as Kape throws shots and is very creative. Later on Nate Landwehr makes his return after his fight against David Onama. If those two were bigger names, that fight would've been a fight of the year contender at the MMA awards. Finally, Yana Santos is off her maternity leave to take on a 41 year old Holly Holm. Expect action.

Chito and the Sandman

Marlon "Chito" Vera takes on Cory Sandhagen in this week's main event. This will be a cinematic battle. Cory Sandhagen throws punches and kicks violently and often. Chito has a downloading style in which he observes his opponent's combinations and defensive strategies, while setting up massive strikes. The Ecuadorian Vera is one of the coolest fighters going, friends with Action Bronson, and sports numerous body and head tattoos from renowned artist Mr. Cartoon. He lands brutal kicks, like his fight ending head kick against Dom Cruz, which left Cruz sleeping on the canvas with a broken nose. You may also recall the uber meme'd moment when Chito put Frankie Edgar to sleep with a front kick. Cory also lands brutal kicks but his game revolves more around his hands and knees. He ended Edgar's night when they met with a flying knee. Cory is a longer and lankier person with a bit more aggressiveness in comparison to Chito's methodical brutality. Tom and I had a super lock on this fight as well- be sure to use the time stamps on this week's episode to find our pick and tail (responsibly).
