Buccaneers -3 vs Colts O/U 53
I have said this before and I will say it again, good teams win and great teams cover. So far this season the Bucs are 4-6 against the spread over all. They are also 0-5 against the spread as the away team and 4-6 as the favorite. The Colts on the other hand are 7-4 overall against the spread. They also are 5-2 as the underdog and 3-3 at home. If all of those stats are not convincing enough, 64% of all of the bets being placed on this game are on Tampa Bay. For those out there who do not know, when the public (which is all of us) is largely favoring a team, that team tends to lose or not cover. For this game I will be rocking with the Colts +3 as well as picking Jonathan Taylor to score a touchdown. He is the current rushing yards leader on the season and I think he will have continued success in this game.
Rams -2 vs Packers O/U 47
This season I have shown great favor to the Los Angeles Rams. For the most part they have done well and made people some money. Lately they have been lackluster to say the least. The Packers have been playing well. Now normally whenever I pick a team I go with the trends and the strength of that team against the spread. For this one I am going against that, but there is a reason why. This is a big “show me” game for LA. Their ceiling is so high for how well their team can perform and they have not been playing to that standard. They are currently favored but the public is currently slightly leaning towards Green Bay at 52%. I believe that this is a game that gets the Rams back on track and launches them into a good spot in the NFC. They will now have the services of Odell Beckham Jr and Von Miller, which only makes their team more dangerous. Give me the Rams -2.
Panthers -2.5 vs Dolphins O/U 42
Cam Newton is back in the NFL and I know Panthers fans could not be happier. Last week Carolina came up short in their 27-21 loss to Washington. One thing to be sure of is, none of that was Cams’ fault. He was 21 of 27 passing for 197 yards and two touchdowns. I think that he will find similar success against Miami who is last in the league in opponent passing yards. Neither one of these teams are particularly good against the spread as both of them sit at 5-6 ATS on the season. I believe that given a full season at the helm, Cam would have made that record just a bit better. That is why I am taking the Panthers -2.5 and Cam Newton to run in a touchdown.
Eagles -3.5 vs Giants O/U 45.5
In this one we find a battle of the woeful NFC East. Outside of the Cowboys who are already playing at a high level, the rest of the conference is starting to pick up the slack. The Eagles are coming off of two convincing wins in a row against the Broncos and the Saints. The young talent is starting to gel at the right time. They are currently 6-5 against the spread overall. They also are 4-2 as the away team and 3-0 as the favored team. Jalen Hurts is running the ball all over the field and is making better decisions. The Eagles have been victorious in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two teams. This tells me that the birds know how to best the Giants. The Eagles will be flying high and covering -3.5 in this one
