More people are looking for self-help books to help depression.
We all want to be successful and happy in this life, however, it seems like nowadays everyone is facing some type of depression, or what they think is depression.
I personally think we live in a society that is purposely set up for the average person to lose, which is why so many people are facing hardships and other problems that stress them out.
College is super expensive, housing is super expensive, and the average salary has not increased at the same rate as the cost of living has.
It is understandable why you may be feeling down, or "depressed" but I believe that anyone can get out of their situation.
The Matrix is out to get you. I suggest you take the red pill. You deserve freedom.
One of the best ways to get out of a rut is to find what gives you energy. This is called your purpose and it is what will help you find joy again.
Self-help books are filled with priceless pearls of wisdom written by professionals and people who like sharing tactics that have worked for them.
They can teach you things that will propel you to the next stage of your life and help you find your purpose again. There are a ton of them out there, but the following self-help books to help with depression are ones I highly recommend.
Outwitting The Devil
Outwitting the Devil is my favorite book and I believe anyone struggling in life needs to read it.
In Outwitting The Devil, Napoleon Hill conjures up an imaginary conversation with the Devil, extracting some information from the source of evil.
The information that Napoleon Hill receives will enable us to avoid the Devil's clutches and live morally faithful lives.
Hill first wrote Think and Grow Rich, which was a huge success, and began his fame as an author.
He then sought to write Outwitting the Devil, but it took 72 years (2011) for it to be published because his wife believed it was too controversial for its original time period due to some of the taboo subject matter that it covers.
Key Lessons from Outwitting The Devil:
- There are only two bases from which we build our entire lives: faith and fear
- The Devil wants to turn all people into aimless Drifters, and if we're not vigilant, he will succeed
- Mental, spiritual, and physical freedom relies on the seven principles to escape the devil’s plan
Throughout the conversation with Hill, the Devil explains how he tricks regular people into becoming losers who drift away from their purpose in life. However, he does offer some insight on how to escape his grasp.
If you follow the 7 Principles he lists then you can become successful and attain total freedom from the evils of the world.
7 Principles for Freedom
- Definiteness of Purpose
- Mastery Over Self
- Learn from Adversity
- Control Your Environment
- Time
- Harmony(mental, spiritual, physical environment)
- Caution (thinking through your plan before you act)
Learn how to Outwit the Devil, whether you view him as a physical being, a force that cannot be seen, or simply the tricks of your mind, don't let him win.
Obviously, the book is much richer in detail, so I highly recommend you check it out.
The Alchemist
"To Realize One's Destiny is a Person's Only Obligation." -The Alchemist
Paulo Coelho is the author of this novel and demonstrates his understanding of life via a young boy named Santiago.
After experiencing a reoccurring dream about finding treasure under the Egyptian pyramids, a youngster named Santiago sets out on a quest to find it. Along the way, he encounters important mentors, falls in love, and—most importantly—learns the value of who he is, how to better himself, and what counts most in life.
The most important lesson taught in The Alchemist is that everyone has a "Personal Legend," which is essentially someone's fate, purpose, or destiny, and that everyone has the option of choosing to follow that legend or not.
The Alchemist says an individual can only live a fulfilling life if they have personal legends.
The world can only be flawless if all natural things go through a continual cycle of achieving their Personal Legend, evolving into a "higher being" with a new Personal Legend, and then working toward that new objective.
The universe rewards those who follow their Personal Legends with wealth and other benefits, while those who delay following them experience regret and miss out on these benefits.
The Alchemist also has other important themes, including The Unity of Nature and The Danger of Fear.
This book is a must-read if you are feeling lost and looking for self-help books to help with depression.
