The marquee at T-Mobile Arena reads "Jones vs. Gane" set for March 4th for the UNDISPUTED Heavyweight Title
With no formal announcement from the UFC yet, fans are curious to why we're potentially finding out this way. An employee at T-Mobile Arena might be in some serious hot water.
I too was skeptical and expected this to be photoshopped at first glance. But then, I was able to find video confirmation that the marquee at T-Mobile Arena does in fact display "Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane".
The marquee also confirms that the bout will be for the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship. Leaving us pretty certain that Francis Ngannou has moved on to greener pastures, most likely the PFL.
The conflict in negotiations between Ngannou and UFC brass has been all over headlines as of late. If this is for real, it would be unfortunate that they couldn't figure out a way to give the fans what we want. Jones vs. Gane is an extremely interesting match-up, and we're more than willing to accept it. But it's not the delicacy we've been salivating for.
