Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has entered into an agreement to purchase Parler, the company announced.
Parler CEO Goerge Farmer says that this deal will "change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech."
"Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again."
Parler has not disclosed exactly how much Ye bought the company for, but officials said the deal is expected to close by the end of 2022.
This decision happened just days after Twitter and Instagram locked Ye's account over posts deemed antisemitic.
"In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial, we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves," Ye said in a statement.
Parler is a part of a long list of apps like Gab, Gettr, and Minds looking to give people social media alternatives to Big Tech censorship.
