How To Change Unwanted Beliefs

What Are Beliefs?

One of our most unique characteristics as thinking animals is our ability to inspect, analyze, and change our beliefs. This one thing has the power to change the direction and quality of your life more than anything else.

Think back into your past. Do you recall a time where you had a realization, or got some great advice from a person or a book, that really changed a belief you had about yourself or the world? These breakthroughs are extremely powerful.

When we think of beliefs, we often think of these unchanging ways of thinking about something that are written in stone. They are unwavering. No matter how much someone would question our belief, they could never get us to change, because we are so strong in that belief.

But that is not what beliefs are. Principles and values, such as treating others how you’d like to be treated, are more of the unwavering guides to life. Beliefs are different. They are changeable, often unconscious ways of looking at the world and ourselves.

Where Do They Come From?

We get so many of our beliefs in childhood. This is because our subconscious filter isn’t yet fully developed, so whatever suggestions and commands we receive are taken into our subconscious as beliefs. If there is a parent who consistently tells their child that they are worthless and will amount to nothing, that child will begin to believe it. That belief then carries on into adulthood, causing all sorts of unnecessary damage.

Taking Responsibility

It doesn’t have to be this way. When we are children, we are largely dependent on our parents and guardians, and don’t have much choice in the input we receive. But as adults, it becomes our responsibility to find these unhelpful beliefs and change them. It takes work. It takes time. It’s not easy. But it has a more profound effect on your life than any other single thing you can do.

When it comes to changing beliefs, hypnosis reigns supreme. Because hypnosis deals directly with the subconscious mind, where these pesky beliefs reside, it has the unique ability to rapidly and effectively change beliefs. Whether through self-hypnosis or with an experienced hypnotist, you can find these beliefs, let go of them, and fill in the void with much more helpful, beneficial and fun beliefs. When you gain the ability to do this at will, whenever you see the need, your life will never be the same.

Letting Go of Bad Beliefs

So many bad beliefs are gathered along our way in life. Examples could be “money is the root of all evil,” or “finish your plate, there are starving children”, or “nobody will ever love me,” or “the Universe is out to get me.” The list is infinite. Can you imagine having the ability to find, let go of, and change these beliefs for the better? Imagine believing, instead, that the Universe is out to do you good. I believe that.

It’s all possible. And I have found, after a decade of doing this work with others, that hypnosis is incredibly effective in making these changes. So find yourself a great hypnotist, or get a book or course on self-hypnosis, and get to work. The ability to change your beliefs will be one of the best gifts you could give yourself for the rest of your life.

Because I have seen the incredible effects of this work on my clients, I created an online program designed to help even more people learn how to do this. Life in Purpose is a 7-Day Mind Mastery Challenge that will teach you how to find the beliefs that no longer serve you, and replace them with much more empowering beliefs. Enjoy the ride!
