Let’s jump in.
Burns the Brazilian Brawler
Some of the big names on this card are UFC can favorites and superstars that have had extremely memorable fights. One such star is Gilbert Burns, who gave us one of the best fights of all time, last year against Khamzat Chimaev. Gil is willing to throw hands with anyone, which he does really well. He almost dropped Khamzat in their scrap. Khamzat also didn’t want to stay on the ground with Gil because he’s got incredible jiu jitsu. Gil takes on Neil Magny this week, another massive brawler that stands at 6 foot 3, as opposed to Burns' 5 foot 10. For our picks on this fight, tune into 57:29 on this week's episode.
The First Quadrilogy
Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueredo share the octagon yet again on Saturday. They fight for the flyweight belt, which they’ve continuously passed back and forth to each other over the past two years. This matchup is fun and exciting and they are the biggest stars in the division so it makes sense to keep this going. These men have shared over an hour of octagon time together, and this will most likely be their last meeting, at least for a while.
Glover Gets Another Shot
Glover Texiera, the oldest first time champ in UFC history, gets to fight in his home country of Brazil. He lost the light heavyweight belt last year to Jiri Prochazka, who then tore his shoulder in preparation for their rematch. The vacant belt was then fought for by Jan Blachowizc and Magomed Ankalaev, but when their fight ended in a draw it remained vacant. Glover got extremely lucky because of the bad judging that took place that night, and Hunter Campbell called him instantly to offer him the title shot in Brazil against up and comer Jamahal Hill. This is an exciting fight because these guys can brawl. There is some serious firepower between these men. Our picks for this fight are at 1:21:29.
