Now, to delve into this deep-cut card.
Card For The Hardcores
This card plays host to a lot of match-ups that may leave the more average fan asking "who are these guys?" Fortunately, we are not your average fan, and practically live for the UFC (among many other sports and leagues, which we also cover on our YouTube and Spotify). If you aren't as deep into this sport as we are, or want to better understand how to bet it, this is a great episode, as well as a great card for you. A few fights that we are really looking forward to are a high-level, stand-n-bang striking battle between Chidi Njokuani and Gregory Rodrigues (25:41 in this week's episode), as well as the debut of Dana White's Contender Series signee Joseph "BodyBagz" Pyfer (16:38). While the whole card is very solid overall, including a promising heavyweight scrap between Tanner Boser and Rodrigo Nascimento (20:16), those are the names that we think you should look out for as a fan. If you follow the timestamps throughout the paragraph, you'll get our picks for them. All three were super locks!
High Level Striking
The main event between Cory Sandhagen and Song Yadong (30:15) will most likely be a five-round, technical spectacle. In one corner you've got Cory Sandhagen, an athlete in the truest sense, who uses all of his long limbs to attack opponents from range in a barrage of creative combinations. He's got flying knee knockouts on his resume, as well as octagon time with the who's who of the bantamweight division. In the other corner stands Song Yadong, an up-and-comer from China that boasts accurate, powerful hands that can damage any man. This fight marks a major step up in competition for Song; Cory Sandhagen has fought names like Petr Yan and TJ Dillashaw over his last two fights alone, and gone the distance with both of them. He's a proven contender whos gone 50 minutes over his last two bouts, whereas Song hasn't fought anyone on that level, or even had a five round fight in the UFC yet. That's not to say that he can't put Sandhagen down early, before he can be dragged into deep waters. For our picks on this wee's main event, skip to 30:15.
This card will have a lot of action. You can get our full slate of picks in this week’s episode.
