UFC Long Island: Ortega vs. Rodriguez- Predictions

UFC on ABC 3, aka "UFC Fight Night Long Island", takes place this week and we're really looking forward to it. The ABC cards are always in the afternoon, this one being at 11 AM ET, and nothing beats Saturday afternoon sports. Plus, the main event is going to slap hard. Two really entertaining featherweights will be going at it in a clash of styles, and styles make fights.

Before we dive into the action to come, check out this week's episode of Pickin' Fights on YouTube:

The Main Event

So you've already listened to Tom speak on the card and who he's taking, but allow us to hype you up a bit more. Brian Ortega is a savage that takes beatings when he steps into the octagon and keeps walking forward, only to lock up a stunning submission. Yair Rodriguez is a stylish kickboxer that can put the moves on anyone, landing punishing shots using unexpected combinations.

Brian Ortega's last fight was against Alex Volkanovski, and nobody can deny that the third round of that fight is one of the greatest rounds in the history of combat sports. If you haven't seen the fight yet, now is your opportunity:

Yair Rodriguez also has some really slick highlights. He's incredibly creative and fits in well with the featherweight division, which is primarily composed of strikers. Here's the time he fought Max Holloway:

After re-watching those two fights, we're absolutely thrilled for UFC on ABC 3. The rest of the card is pretty good as well; most of the match-ups have a lot of potential for entertainment value, as well as monetary value if you're a bettor. When it comes to the picks, we're both taking Brian Ortega at -165. For the rest of Tom's picks, follow those links above to our YouTube and Spotify. Being that it was a solo episode for Tom, stay tuned to get Keith's picks later in the week.
