Here are a few players to pick up ahead of Week 4, if you need to fill some voids or need a sleeper on your bench.
3. Richie James, New York Giants Wide Reciever
Rostered in 2.2% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues
Last week, Richie James caught 4 of his 5 Targets for 36 yards against Dallas during Monday Night Football. The appeal with James is that he may emerge as one of Daniel Jones’ top options. Yesterday, veteran wideout Sterling Shepard went down for the season with a torn ACL. Also, we are all well aware of the controversy between the Giants and wide receiver Kenny Golladay, and there is reason to suspect that Golladay could be traded soon. With this in mind, Richie James may have a major increase in targets this week and for the rest of the season. He is definitely someone to look out for & stash him for the long run.
2. Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears RB
Rostered in 25% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues
With David Montgomery going down for Chicago, the Bears quickly turned to their second year running back Khalil Herbert for some meaningful carries. He ran for 157 yards on 20 carries with 2 touchdowns. If Montgomery is out or limited this week, Herbert is a solid RB2 start. The Giants allow 5.6 yards per carry to running backs this season. For now, Montgomery, when he’s healthy, will get the bulk of carries for Chicago. But with how much the Bears run the football, 41 times in last weeks win against the Texans, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Herbert gets more touches even with Montgomery on the field. Herbert should be one of if not your top target on waivers, especially if you need a back this week, or one to stash on the bench.
1. Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers WR
Rostered in 16.2% of ESPN Fantasy Football Leagues
Rookie Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs, may have found his place in Aaron Rodgers’ offense. Catching all eight of his targets for 73 yards and a touchdown, Doubs had a breakout 21.3 PPR performance. Aaron Rodgers expressed before the season that his wide receivers, especially the younger ones, were struggling with drops throughout training camp. With his strong Week 3 performance, Romeo Doubs may have catapulted himself to one of Rodgers’ top options. Part of his success was also because rookie Christian Watson and Veteran Sammy Watkins were out with injuries, however, with no timetable for either one, Doubs may be in for another great week against New England. He's been getting targeted on almost 23% of his routes.
Honorable Mention: Deandre Hopkins
Remember him?
Hopkins’ PED Suspension will be in effect until Week 6. And when he returns, expect an immediate impact for the Cardinals offense. At the end of the day, Deandre is still a top receiver in the NFL, and many Fantasy leagues have come to realize that. Currently, he is rostered in 85.8 % of ESPN leagues, so time is running out for many. If he is still available in your league, pick him up with ZERO hesitation; Hopkins gives your team a huge fantasy edge & he also comes with trade value if you lack in other positions.
